We were called by SJD 7 because the exterior appearance of the house had long since become outdated.

In addition, over the years the facades had lost their waterproofing properties, the closing fence did not provide sufficient security when entering and leaving the house, and there were multiple functional aspects that could be improved to optimize the exterior spaces of the house. In short, it was necessary to act with a global project of exterior rehabilitation and landscape design.

The intervention project focused on correcting all these faults and renewing the seventies image of this isolated house in the Barcelona suburbs.

For this, the most important decisions were to apply a SATE on the entire facade, extend the staircase to the full width of the front retreat to give the house a more comfortable access while gaining a storage under stairs (accessible from the garage) and generate an enjoyable space: a winter garden at the same level of the first floor of the house.

The new party walls, the exterior lighting project, the renovation of the cladding and a Jacuzzi in the backyard completed the project.

The fence that was designed for the façade enclosure was given a materiality and height that provides the required security, while at the same time it acts as a visual filter to the winter garden located above the garage, renewing the style of the house without losing its essence.
